Chase Pontiac Jourdain, 17, of Red Lake, died Thursday, March 19, 2009, at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, N.D.

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Red Lake with the Rev. Pat Sullivan officiating. A wake will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Little Rock Center in Red Lake and continue until the funeral. Burial will be in St. Mary's Mission Catholic Cemetery in Red Lake under the direction of Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.

Pallbearers will be Arlen Jourdain, Mick Fasthorse, John Jourdain, Solomon Desjarlait, Joe Perkins, Dan Warner, Elisha Lasley and Trevor Lussier.

Honorary pallbearers will be Starrlite Jourdain, Linda Sayers, Lori Sayers, Charlie May, DaTonnah Strong, Gary Auginaush Jr., Dan Perkins, Ricky Green, Johny Green, Shyra Antone and Anthony Fasthorse.

He was born March 11, 1992, to David Desjarlait and Georgianna Jourdain in Bemidji. He was a student at Red Lake High School in the 11th grade.

He enjoyed listening to music and playing video games and he loved to draw. He liked hunting and spending time outdoors. He enjoyed being with his family and friends and he liked going to school.

He is survived by his parents, both of Red Lake; brothers, Arlan Jourdain and Solomon Jourdain, both of Red Lake; sisters, Starrlite Jourdain, Valerie Jourdain, Pebbles Jourdain and Tuesday Jourdain, all of Red Lake; special friend, DaTonnah Strong of Red Lake; paternal grandfather, Leo Desjarlait of Red Lake; maternal grandfather, Floyd Jourdain Sr. of St. Paul; and maternal grandmother, Elaine Jourdain of Red Lake.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Waylon Desjarlait; grandparents, George and Anna Riche; and a grandmother, Ramona Desjarlait.
