Charles Samuel Osborn, 83
Charles Samuel Osborn (The Old Man), 83, of Minneapolis, formerly of Bemidji, died on Tuesday, June 27, 2006, in Minneapolis.
He was born on May 13, 1922, in Bemidji. He served in World War II, went to college on the GI Bill at Bemidji State Teachers College in Bemidji and became a history and art teacher. He taught in Indus, MN, Walker and Cass Lake. Charles was also an artist, with an art showing at BSU, with paintings displayed in the area.
Charles boxed as a young man, competing in the Golden Gloves Tournament. He coached hockey and wresting teams. He has resided the last few years with his daughter, Sharon.
He is survived by his former wife, Onita (Desizlets) Osborn; daughter, Diana (Osborn) King and her children, Joseph Beaulieu, Misty Seeger, Martin Seeger and Darwin Seeger; son, Charles Samuel Osborn Jr. and his children, Charles Samuel Osborn III, Spencer Osborn, and Quincy Osborn; son, Joseph Osborn and his children, Jasmine Osborn and Jade Osborn; son, Todd Osborn and his wife, Jill (Beauchene) Osborn and their children, Hannah, Simone and Ira; son, Thomas Osborn and his child, Thomas Jr.; son, Ted Osborn and his wife, Vanessa (Lanning) Osborn and their children, Theodore, Savannah, Axel and Mattie Marie; daughter, Sharon Osborn and son-in-law, Bruce Bale; sister, Dorothy (Osborn) Olson of Kelso, WA; and several great-grandchildren.
Per his request, there will be no service held. Charles Osborn was bits and pieces of great men, and has thousands of students.
