According to a press release from the Cass County Attorney's Office:

Maria Elene Kremper was sentenced to 15 months in prison with the sentence stayed. She was placed on supervised probation for three years.

She was ordered to serve 60 days in the Cass County Jail. A portion of or all of that time could be served by means of electronic home monitoring at her own expense.

She must complete an adult sex offender treatment program, including aftercare, and register as a predatory offender. She may not have contact with boys (males under the age of 18).

Kremper, according to the criminal complaint, sent about 1,600 test messages to a 15-year-old boy in 2009. The messages were primarily sexual in nature and included a sexually inappropriate photograph of Kremper.

The statute on communication of sexually explicit materials to a child was specifically amended in 2009 to include prohibition against adults sending sexually explicit text messages to, or making sexually explicit phone contact with, a minor.
