Cass Lake planning kid fishing event

CASS LAKE - The Cass Lake Area Take A Kid Fishing event here will be Thursday starting at Stony Point Resort and Campground, 5510 U.S. Highway 2.

Children ages 2 to 7 will fish from the pond, while children 8 to 15 will fish from boats.

Registration, safety briefing and pairing fishing guids with children will be from 9-9 a.m.

Children and their guides will fish from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Starting at 1 p.m. there will be food, prizes, a fish fry and a visit from Smokey the Bear.

Registration forms are available at the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe Headquarters, Stony Point Resort and Campground, the U.S. Forest Service, Teal's Market, Cass Lake Mini Mart, Froggy's Sports and the Leech Lake Area Boys and Girls Club.
