The event starts with a decorated Ice Shack Parade on Second Street.

Voting will be taken by dollars in jars for the following categories: most creative, best decorated, best costumes and ugliest house.

Plaques will be given to winners and all proceeds will be donated to the elementary school for purchasing hats and mittens.

There will be food and music afterward to the Big Tap. A band will play at the American Legion from 8 to 11 p.m.

The event is open to the community and all ages.

Anyone interested in putting an ice shack (or other winter equipment decorated) into the event should call (218) 335-2250.

The cost is $20 to participate in the ice shack contest and the price includes drink and sandwich tickets.
