Cass Lake-Bena students make college commitment
Cass Lake-Bena seniors Danielle Jourdain, Martin Wind and Mike Hanson recently signed National Letters of Intent to continue their athletic careers at area universities.
Hanson and Jourdain plan to attend Bemidji State University while Wind is headed for Bismarck State.
"We've never had three athletes at Cass Lake-Bena sign letters in the same year," said CL-B activities director Mike Hanson. "We've had many good athletes attend Cass Lake-Bena but to have three sign letters in one year is pretty cool. It's a big deal here."
Jourdain is headed for Craig Hougen's track and field program.
"Craig thinks Danielle would be a natural in the pentathlon," Hanson said.
Wind plans to play basketball at Bismarck State while Hanson is eager to join BSU's baseball program.
Academically, they all have a jump on their post-high school education.
"All three are National Honor Society members and are graduating with college credits that they earned in high school," Hanson said.
Wind's goal is to become a physical education teacher and Hanson plans to teach to the developmentally disabled. Jourdain is working toward her registered nurse degree.
