Cass EDC to hold business seminar

The Cass County Economic Development Corporation and the Brainerd WorkForce Center will present "Business Basics - Hiring Employees vs. Independent Contractors," a seminar for small business owners in Cass County, from 4-6 p.m. May 14 in the Cass County Land Department building.

Cindy Brey, business service specialist at the Brainerd WorkForce Center, will lead small business owners through the hiring process, including "10 Things You Must Do When Hiring." Participants can ask questions and acquire other resources.

The EDC is a public/private partnership of those who wish to develop new businesses and job opportunities in Cass County. Free follow-up confidential counseling is available through the EDC.
