WALKER - In Cass County District Court before Judge John P. Smith:

Herbert Arthur Young Jr., 27, of Bena, pleaded innocent March 9 to felony fifth-degree domestic assault, gross misdemeanor fifth-degree domestic assault, misdemeanor domestic assault and misdemeanor fifth-degree assault. An April 20 pretrial hearing was set.

He is accused of assaulting a woman Dec. 11 at a Bena residence. He has one prior assault conviction from 2001 and two from 2002.

Kate Ivy Whitebird, 23, of Bemidji, was sentenced March 9 for felony fifth-degree domestic assault to pay $385 fines and costs and was placed on five years probation.

She assaulted a woman at a Boy River residence Sept. 23. She has prior domestic assault convictions from 2004, 2005 and 2008.

Frederick Wesley Tibbetts Jr., 61, of Bena, pleaded guilty March 9 to felony fifth-degree controlled substance crime (possession) and misdemeanor indecent exposure. He will be sentenced April 20.

He possessed four Tylenol 3 tablets without a prescription when officers stopped him after he urinated on a downtown Cass Lake sidewalk Jan. 17.

Royal Sloan Rock, 23, of Cass Lake, pleaded guilty March 9 to felony third-degree criminal sexual conduct. He will be sentenced April 20.

He engaged in sex with a 14-year-old girl Nov. 29 at a Cass Lake residence.

Richard Delmar Morgan, 38, of Ponsford, pleaded guilty March 9 to felony fourth-degree assault on a peace officer. He will be sentenced April 20.

He assaulted a jailer while he was being booked into Cass County Jail Feb. 13.

Jarle Hjalmar Johnson, 46, of Minneapolis, received probation before conviction March 9 for felony fifth-degree controlled substance crime (possession), was ordered to pay $300 court costs and was placed on five years probation.

He possessed marijuana and cocaine when officers searched the vehicle he was driving on U.S. Highway 2 near Cass Lake Nov. 21.

David Lee Chase, 22, of Federal Dam, was sentenced March 9 for felony fourth-degree assault on a peace officer to 40 hours community service work, was ordered to pay $382 fines and costs and placed on three years probation. This sentence will be consecutive to other sentences he is serving. He also was ordered to serve 60 days on sentence to serve for violating probation he is serving for gross misdemeanor third-degree criminal damage to property on another case.

Jeremy Clement Bellanger, 19, of Minneapolis, was sentenced March 9 for misdemeanor fifth-degree assault to time already served, ordered to pay $450 costs and was placed on two years probation. He initially also had been charged with felony third-degree assault.

He assaulted a woman at a Cass Lake residence Jan. 1.

Richard Elmer Bailey, 36, of Laporte, received probation before conviction March 9 for felony fifth-degree controlled substance crime (possession), was ordered to pay $100 court costs and was placed on three years probation.

He possessed methamphetamine and marijuana Jan. 16 when officers stopped the vehicle he was driving on Cass County Road 75 near the Palace Casino.

Norman Silas Cloud, 43, of Grand Forks, N.D., formerly of Walker, March 9 was found in violation of probation he was serving for felony fifth-degree controlled substance crime (possession) and received execution of the balance of one year and one day in prison.
