Carol H. (Himebaugh) Sutzer, 86, of Marshall, Mich., died Saturday April 4, 2009, at Maplewood of Marshall.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at the Burr Oak Cemetery in Burr Oak, Mich.
Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home of Marshall assisted the family with arrangements.
She was born on Sept. 27, 1922 to Roy and Addie Matilda (Pease) Himebaugh in Burr Oak. She lived in Minnesota, where she was employed as a secretary and bookkeeper for a clothing store. In 1969, she moved to Marshall, where she has lived ever since. On March 21, 1942, she married James Belton Sutzer in Toledo, Ohio. She was a homemaker and a member of the Marshall Women of the Moose No. 676. She enjoyed bowling and bowled in the women's afternoon bowling league at Marshall Lanes. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and working crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her daughters, Virginia (George) Fluey of Kelliher; Shirley Sutzer of McKinney, Texas, and Barbara Seaver of Kalamazoo, Mich.; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Blocksom of Marshall and Esther Willis of White Pigeon, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her husband on July 26, 1992; a granddaughter; a sister, Ruth Snell; a brother, Coin Himebaugh and a son-in-law.
