Carlson leads Flyers

BAGLEY — The Bagley-Fosston girls cross country team is very young although the team will be led by junior Marissa Carlson who will be seeking her fourth straight trip to the state meet.

“In the season opening meet (at Staples) Marissa placed fifth and she is looking very strong,” said Bagley-Fosston coach Sean Peterson.

Also back this year are seniors Mary Helen Berntson and Megan Flaherty, sophomore Lisa Johnson and eighth graders Rachel Okeson and Rebecca Swanson.

The boys program boasts more numbers although gone this fall is two-time state qualifier Wesley Davies.

Leading the boys will be seniors Caleb Curfman and Karl Kubiak along with junior Luke Lane and sophomores Ben Miller and Zachary Fultz.

Also expected to compete for varsity spots this season are seventh grader Treydan Carlson plus eighth graders Hunter Stai and Lucas Molitor.
