BSU FOOTBALL: Head coach Tesch on 'leave of absence'

Carlson files for Senate 4 position

Republican endorsee John Carlson of Bemidji filed Wednesday for the Senate 4 post in the only local legislative filing.

In judicial filings, Cass County District Judge John Smith filed for re-election.

Among federal filings, Lee Byberg of Willmar, the Republican-endorsed candidate filed for U.S. House District 7, and U.S. Rep. Jim Oberstar, DFL-8th District, filed for re-election.

There were no new Beltrami County filings on Wednesday, with the exception of Jay Frenzel filing for re-election to the Beltrami Soil and Water Conservation Board.

Filing closes June 1, with the primary scheduled for Aug. 10.
