The forums, sponsored by the Citizens for an Informed Electorate Committee, are designed for non-partisan offices.

Voters will go to the polls Aug. 14 for a primary election.

The first forum will be from 6:30-7:45 p.m. for Ward 5 candidates. A second forum for mayor, with a question and answer session, begins at 8 p.m.

The forums will allow candidates to make opening and closing statements. Modera-tors will collect question cards from the audience, screen them for duplication or inappropriateness and direct them toward candidates.

The forums are open to the general public. The forums will be televised live on First City Cable TV and recorded for later broadcast on KAXE/KBXE and Upstream TV.
