Call for artists
Artists are wanted to take part in the 2012 Lady Celebration art walk, Art Around Town which will be held in Blackduck June 23. Hours of display will be 10 a.m.-4 p.m. This will be an indoor/outdoor venue with some artists hosted in local businesses and others in their own shelters around town.
Artists living within 100 miles of any portion of the Lady Slipper Scenic Byway, which lies between Blackduck and Cass Lake, are eligible to participate. Art depicting nature or using natural materials and all traditional Native American arts and crafts are preferred.
The fee is $20 and registration will need to be completed by May 15. Please call Shirley Gilmore at 835-7826 before registering to discuss a suitable location for your art, or for more information. Preference for location of your booth will be based on the order of sign up, so call soon!
Stay alert for more details of activities and schedules for this years celebration, with the focus of activity in Blackduck June 23 and at Norway Beach Visitors Center near Cass Lake June 24.
