St. Joseph’s earns designation

PARK RAPIDS — St. Joseph’s Area Health Services Center for Weight Management and Essentia Health Park Rapids Clinic recently was named one of the first facilities to earn a Center of Excellence in Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery designation.

The distinction is awarded by the Surgical Review Corp., an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the safety, efficacy and efficiency of bariatric and metabolic surgical care worldwide.

Additionally, Dr. Daniel Smith and Dr. Robert Wroblewski have earned the SCR Surgeon of Excellence in Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery designation. A total of 61 providers in 10 countries have completed all program requirements to date.

The SRC Center of Excellence designations recognize that St. Joseph’s Center for Weight Managements, Essentia Health Park Rapids Clinic and Drs. Smith and Wroblweski demonstrate an “unparalleled commitment and ability to consistently deliver safe, effective, evidence-based care,” according to a press release.

By designating the Center for Weight Management as a Center of Excellence, patients are able to distinguish providers who have met the requirements for delivering high-quality post-operative and long-term follow-up care.

St. Joseph’s Center for Weight Management offers surgical and non-surgical treatment options to patients.
