Burger King worker assaulted in East Grand Forks
EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. -- A disagreement over an unpaid debt may have led to a confrontation-turned-assault in the drive-thru of a fast food restaurant Wednesday afternoon in East Grand Forks, police said.
Investigators are still sorting out the details, but they say the victim, an employee of Burger King, was punched in the face by the driver of a car just after 4 p.m.
The victim was handing out change to a passenger in the back seat at the time.
Police Lt. Rodney Hajicek said the driver is a former employee of the restaurant.
The victim was scheduled to give a statement to police Thursday, and misdemeanor assault charges are likely to be filed against the driver, who police have not named.
