Bemidji State University women's hockey coach Steve Sertich announced Tuesday that senior Franny Dorr, senior Jackie Robertson and junior Erin Cody have been selected as captains for the upcoming 2009-10 season.
All three players will wear the 'C' on their jersey for the first time in their careers, replacing last years' lone captain Brooke Collins. The trio never missed a game last season, playing in all 36 games.
Dorr, a forward, recorded two goals and four assists last season.
Robertson, a defenseman, had one goal and three assists. She will be the team leader on defense this season.
Cody, a forward, has led Bemidji State in scoring each of her first two years. She began her career with 10 points (four goals, six assists) and followed that up with a 28-point sophomore season (12 goals, 16 assists), which included five power-play goals, two short-handed goals and two game-winners.
She also broke the school record with 148 shots during the 2008-09 season.
At one point during the season, Cody racked up 20 points in 20 games. She notched game winners against both Robert Morris University (Jan. 3) and Ohio State (Jan. 24).
The trio will be replacing Collins, who donned the 'C' for two years. She finished her career with the BSU record for games played with 144. She never missed a game in her four-year career, and finished with six goals and 21 assists for 27 points. Her assists were second-most in BSU history by a defenseman, her points were third-most by a BSU defenseman and her goals were fourth most.
