The Bemidji State University soccer team stopped Augustana 1-0 Sunday in Sioux Falls and clinched a playoff berth in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference tournament.
The Beavers improved to 11-2-0 (8-2-0 NSIC) and remained tied for first place in the conference with UMD. The Beavers are still looking to post one of their best finishes ever in NSIC play and need one more conference win to secure a top-four playoff seed.
In Sunday's game BSU notched the lone goal in the 55th minute as Bri Scanlan scored off Jamie Ford's assist.
Goalie Samantha Ross needed only three saves to post her ninth career shutout.
Bemidji State will play one NSIC contest and one nonconference match this weekend. On Friday the Beavers head to UMD for a 3 p.m. game and Saturday they will host Minot State at 1 p.m.
