The Bemidji State women's hockey team earned an exhibition series split with a 5-1 win over the Minnesota Whitecaps Saturday afternoon at The Sanford Center.

The Whitecaps scored the first goal of the game on Jessica Koizumi's goal at 8:59 of the first period, but BSU rallied to score five unanswered goals.

Emily Erickson scored three goals for the hat trick for the Beavers with back-to-back goals three minutes apart in the second period and another goal in the third period.

MacKenzie Thurston and Erin Cody also scored goals for the Beavers.

The Whitecaps scored the first three goals of Friday's meeting to defeat the Beavers 3-1 in the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Game at the Hippodrome in Eveleth. Jamie Hatheway scored the lone goal for the Beavers in the second period.

The Whitecaps are an adult team comprised of former college hockey stars and U.S. Olympians.

BSU hosts St. Cloud State in WCHA play next Friday and Saturday at The Sanford Center.

The Bemidji State soccer won its final home game of the regular season with a 1-0 non-conference win over Minot State Saturday afternoon at BSU Soccer Field.

Kari McAllen scored the lone goal for the Beavers in the 83rd minute. BSU goalies Abby Kjonaas and Samantha Ross combined for 10 saves in the win.

BSU concludes regular season play with games next weekend at Southwest?Minnesota State and MSU, Mankato.

The Bemidji State volleyball team needed all five sets to defeat St. Cloud State 3-2 Saturday afternoon at BSU Gymnasium.

The scores were 25-15, 20-25, 22-25, 25-18 and 15-13.

Hannah Eilers had 17 kills, Nicole Olson had 12 kills, Bethany Thompson had 11 kills and Kimberly Hacker had 10 kills.

Jessi-Beth McCannell had 53 set assists and Brie Groskreutz had 22 digs.

The Bemidji State cross country team took third place at the U-Mary Open Friday in Bismarck, N.D.

Kristi Buerkle placed 13th individually with a time of 24:12.54 in the 6,000 meter race.

Kirsten Miras finished 20th, Ali Hougen finished 21st, Mackenzie Haupert finished 24th, Ciara Robinson finished 26th, Tina Larson finished 28th and Pearl Walker finished 29th.
