BEMIDJI - Kelly Blair and Monica Wold have signed letter of intent to attend and play golf at Bemidji State.
Blair, from International Falls, was a six-year golf letterwinner at International Falls High School. She is currently ranked eighth in the Section 7AA girls golf tournament after shooting a 97 on day one. She finished tied for 34th at state in 2011 with a two-day total of 177 (+33).
"We are fortunate to add Kelly Blair to our roster," BSU coach Mark Bagaason said. "She has improved her golf game each year in high school and we know she will work hard to do the same at BSU. Another factor in her signing was Bemidji State's strong elementary education department."
Wold, from Beltrami, is a three-time Minnesota state girl's golf tournament participant. She's the sister of current BSU golfer Rachel Wold.
The Crookston High student is a five-year letterwinner in golf and a three-year letterwinner in both volleyball and basketball. She was named Crookston High School Female Athlete of the Year as a senior.
She closed the 2012 conference season with a 39.75 nine-hole average.
"We are excited and fortunate to be able to add Monica Wold to our roster," Bagaason said. "Monica is having an outstanding senior season and we are hoping she will continue to improve over the next four years and take the women's golf program to new heights. It will be a unique situation to have her and her sister, Rachel, on a collegiate team together."
