The Beavers defeated the University of Minnesota-Crookston in head-to-head competition at the par-72 Bemidji Town and Country Club, 298-316.

Bemidji State's Neil Rude fired a one-over-par 73 (33-40) to take medalist honors while leading Bemidji State to an 18-stroke win over the visiting Golden Eagles. BSU claimed the top three spots with Jeff Peltier coming in on the heels of Rude with a 35-39--74 (+2) and Clint Cornell sliding into a tie for third place with a 39-36--75 (+3).

Steven Busho and Kyle Peterson paced the UMC squad as each carded a four-over 76.

Beavers, who are ranked fifth in the Central Region, now await the decision of the NCAA regional committee.

Eight teams from each of the ten regions are selected by the NCAA to compete in super regional tournaments.

BSU has competed in the past two Central/Great Lakes Regional Tournaments and an invitation in 2007 would send Beavers to Twin Hills Golf and Country Club in Joplin, Mo. May 7-9.
