The Bemidji State University volleyball team dropped a 25-12, 25-11, 25-9 decision Friday at Concordia-St. Paul.
BSU, 4-16 and 1-12 in NSIC action, fell behind early in each game. Concordia-St. Paul stormed to leads of 5-1 and 11-3 in the opening set and coasted the rest of the way. In the second game the home team bolted to a 10-2 cushion and never looked back.
The Beavers spotted Concordia-SP an 18-8 advantage in the finale.
Bethany Thompson had seven kills in 30 attempts to lead BSU. Courtney Volkmann contributed nine assists and JessiBeth McCannell six. Elissa Christensen finished with nine digs.
Concordia-SP remained unbeaten as the four-time defending NCAA II national champion and current top-ranked team in the country improved to 22-0 (13-0 NSIC).
BSU heads to St. Cloud today for a 4 p.m. match.
