BSU alumni, friends show up for 'super' photo
BEMIDJI - About 200 people turned out Sunday for a photo shoot at Chet Anderson Stadium on the Bemidji State University campus to wish former Beaver player Trent Baalke well in next weekend's Super Bowl.
Baalke is the general manager for the San Francisco 49ers, who will face the Baltimore Ravens in the NFL championship game.
Among those gathering Sunday were BSUalumni, friends, student-athletes and other students, coaches, President Richard Hanson, and former President Jim Bensen and his wife, Nancy.
"People really showed their Bemidji State pride, and nearly everyone wore green," BSU spokesman Scott Faust said in an email. "Even though the temperature reached into the 20s today, there was still a good wind off the lake, so we assembled the group and took the photos in short order. Everyone was out of there by 2:50 p.m."
Photos of the gathering will be sent toBaalke and the 49ers, and BSU also plans to share the photos in social media circles.
