Brodie Rae Camp, 19

Brodie Rae Camp, 19, of Bagley, died Monday, April 6, 2009, in Eckles Township, Beltrami County, Minn.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Bagley High School, with the Rev. Mardy Schermerhorn and the Rev. John Omans officiating. A wake will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the Bagley High School, with a 7 p.m. prayer service. Burial will be in Pine Bend Cemetery, Mahnomen County, Minn.

Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home of Bemidji assisted the family with arrangements.

The pallbearers will be Justin Camp, Aaron Olson, Todd Boe, Chad Boe, Scott LaFriniere, Stanton Alexander and Tony Goodwin.

Honorary pallbearers will be the 2006-2007 Bagley High School Basketball Team, Shane Olson, Andrew Lundell, Nathan Titera, Brandon Coyle, Luke Knutson, Evan Klema, John Tronnes, Matt Illies, Alex Beck and coaches, Todd Fore, Kelly Cota and Perry Nelson.

He was born April 10, 1989, to Kim and Cindy (Goodwin) Camp in Bemidji. He grew up in Bagley and graduated from Bagley High School in 2007. He attended Fergus Falls Community College for one year. In high school he was on the honor roll and was class president his senior year. While in grade school, he was active in summer recreation including baseball, golf and basketball. While in high school, he lettered in basketball, football, track and cross-country. In ninth grade he started coaching the elementary basketball program. He participated in pacesetter and AAU basketball leagues and was All Conference and All State in basketball. He golfed during the summers, played on the summer men's softball league and enjoyed playing X-Box. He worked as a dishwasher at Douglas Lodge for two years. He was also employed for a summer at Dairy Queen, two summers at NCS and, most recently, he was employed at S&K Bar and Grill.

He is survived by his significant other, Katie Hood of Bagley; grandmother, Hazel Goodwin of Bagley; mother, Cindy Goodwin Camp of Bagley; father, Kim (Wendy) Camp of Brookings, S.D.; brother, Justin Camp of Bagley; sister, Stevie Camp of Bagley; step-sisters, Trisha Hickey of Fargo, N.D., and Jamie Hickey of Brookings, S.D.; special friend of the family, Myron Sorgaard of Bagley; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Stanley Goodwin; paternal grandparents, Walter and Justine Camp; a friend and a cousin.
