Boys golf: Gregg, Johnson, lead Bemidji at Fergus Falls meet
FERGUS FALLS -- Matt Gregg followed Friday's 85 with an 84 on Saturday and his 36-hole total of 169 was Bemidji's top individual score at the two-day Fergus Falls Invitational played at Pebble Lake Golf Course.
As a team the Lumberjacks placed 11th in the 15-team field.
"Other than the snowstorm we played in earlier this spring, this was our first meet," said BHS coach Seth Knudson. "We have work to do but everybody was able to string a bunch of solid holes together and that was nice to see.
"The most important thing for us now is to get outside and practice."
Jack Johnson cut 11 shots off his Friday round as he followed Friday's 91 with Saturday's 80 for a 36-hole total of 171. Leo Spry was a shot back at 81-91-172.
Chris Washington and Jaret Lalli each carded 91s both days for a two-round total of 182 and Matt Allen finished at 96-97-193.
The Lumberjacks will make their lone home appearance Monday when they host 17 other teams at the Bemidji Town and Country Club. The teams will hit the tee at 9 a.m.
