BOYS GOLF: Bemidji struggles in St. Cloud Invitational
ST. CLOUD -- A shorthanded Bemidji boys golf team struggled at the St. Cloud Country Club High School Invitational, tying for 15th out of 20 teams Tuesday afternoon.
"We didn't have a full team," BHS head coach Seth Knudson said. " A lot of the guys were at a hockey tournament.
"Still, it's no excuse. We didn't bring our 'A' game. We definitely could have done much better today."
The Lumberjacks finished with a score of 341 along with Cambridge-Isanti.
Marshall finished in first place with a score of 302 while Brainerd had 315 and St. Cloud Tech 316.
Marshall's Matt Bennett was the medalist in the invitational, scoring a 71 on the par-72 course.
Bemidji's Matt Gregg was the highest-placing Lumberjacks' golfer, scoring an 80.
Bemidji returns to the course today for the first of a two-day tournament hosted by Detroit Lakes.
Today they'll be at Longbow in Walker before going to Headwaters Golf Club in Park Rapids.
