THIEF RIVER FALLS — The inability to hit the open shot proved costly for the Bemidji boys basketball team Tuesday as the Lumberjacks dropped a 70-52 decision at Thief River Falls.

“We’re getting into position, both inside and out, to score but we just weren’t making the shots,” said BHS coach Dan Ninham whose team fell to 0-2.

“During the second half we shot only 28 percent and that’s not going to win you games.”

AJ Anderson paced the Jacks with 13 rebounds and 10 points. Collin Rutledge had nine points and Jalen Ingalls eight.

The Lumberjacks will make their home debut this weekend when they host the Lake and Woods Classic. Their first game will be Friday night.
