BOYS BASKETBALL: Alexandria rolls past Bemidji
ALEXANDRIA – Bemidji’s poor shooting led to an 83-51 loss at Alexandria Saturday night.
The Lumberjacks (1-17) shot just 20 percent from 3-point range and couldn’t overcome a 42-28 halftime deficit against the Cardinals (6-11).
“We didn’t shoot very well, and that dug is in a big hole early,” BHS head coach Dan Ninham said. “We couldn’t get ourselves out of it and we couldn’t come back.”
The Cardinals also had Division-I prospect Logan Doyle, who racked up a team-high 29 points. The 6-foot-8 senior forward will play at South Dakota State next season, and had 11 field goals and went 7-for-7 from the line against the Lumberjacks.
“He’s a good player,” Ninham said. “We couldn’t really stop him either.”
The Lumberjacks were led by Richard Seado, who had 13 points. Joe Strong added 12 points for the Lumberjacks.
BHS travels to St. Cloud Tech on Thursday before returning to Bemidji to take on Sauk Rapids-Rice at home next Saturday.
