Both lanes of traffic open on Highway 2 bypass over river

BEMIDJI -- Crews completed the bridge work on the Highway 2 bypass over the Mississippi River Wednesday, opening both the east and westbound lanes to traffic.

The Highway 2 bridge over the Mississippi River and the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad had been subject to lane restrictions and temporary median crossovers since May 1, when repairs began.

Motorists are cautioned to be alert to workers and equipment still in the area as crews conduct cleanup work.
