Bonivon Loy Thorson, 64, of San Fernando, Calif., formerly of the Bagley area, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, at her home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Zion Lutheran Church in rural Bagley with the Rev. Steve McCaughan officiating. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bagley. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
She was born on Dec. 20, 1944, to Charles and Cora Davis in Portland, Ore. She was a young child when the family moved to Minnesota, settling in Alida, Minn., where she grew up. She graduated from Bagley High School in 1962. She met her husband, Lyle Syver Thorson, at the age of 11 when her sister, Renee, began dating Lyle's brother, Arvid. They were married in November 1962. She later gave birth to two daughters. In 1965, the family moved to southern California, They moved back to Minnesota in 1969, and they moved back to California in 1971.
She is survived by her husband; daughters, Tammi (Jamie) Brimer of Truckee, Calif., and Cynthia (Hector) Rivera of San Fernando, Calif.; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; sister, Renee Thorson of Bagley; brother, Dennis (Faye) Davis of Gilbertsville, Pa.; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
