Authorities uncovered the body of Renata Fernandez-Ramon on Thursday. Her body was identified Friday by the Ramsey County medical examiner.

Ortonville Police Chief James Mork says a landowner contacted the Big Stone County Sheriff's Office Wednesday about what appeared to be a freshly dug area on his property.

The landowner had noticed the apparent digging earlier in the month and contacted the sheriff when he learned about Fernandez-Ramon being missing.

The West Central Tribune of Willmar, a Forum Communications Co. newspaper, reports Ortonville Police continue to investigate, with help from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the sheriff's office.

The police chief says there is no threat to the public. No additional details were released.
