Body of missing college student found
ROSEMOUNT — The body of a University of Minnesota student who had been missing since Sept. 22 was found Monday in rural Rice County, south of the Twin Cities.
The Hennepin County medical examiner identified the remains of 20-year-old Anarae Schunk.
Schunk was last seen with her ex-boyfriend, Shavelle Oscar Chavez-Nelson, and his current girlfriend, Ashley Conrade. He is suspected in the Sept. 22 shooting death of Palagor Obang Jobi at a Burnsville bar.
Rosemount police arrested Chavez-Nelson on Sept. 24. He is in the Dakota County Jail and has been charged with Jobi's death. Conrade has been charged with aiding after the crime.
Police had been searching for Schunk for nearly a week, including locations in Rosemount, Apple Valley and Lillydale.
According to a news release, the Rosemount Police Department is the lead investigating agency in the case, in partnership with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office and other agencies.
