The training features seminars on safe bathing options available to assist older Americans to live independently in their own homes.

The concept of aging in place is to encourage and support individuals to adapt their homes to changing lifestyle needs as they age. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 93 percent of older people surveyed said they prefer to stay at home rather than uproot and move later in life. Typically, the bathroom and the kitchen are the most important rooms for remodeling.

Additionally, participants reviewed installation procedures and participated in problem solving exercises.

Since 1971, Best Bath Systems, located in Caldwell, Idaho, just west of Boise, has been designing and manufacturing an extensive line of American Disability Act-compliant and barrier-free bathing units for people of all abilities. The bathing products are designed to be safe, convenient, easy to install, durable and attractive. Bemidji Medical Equipment offers multi-piece showers and walk-in tubs for residential remodeling.
