Blue Ox face two doubleheaders
The Bemidji Blue Ox faces back to back twin bills today and tomorrow as its regular season nears an end.
The Ox heads to Ada today for two games at 2 and 4 and returns home tomorrow for a key Northwest Border League pair with Warroad at the same times.
The regular season ends Tuesday with a 6 p.m. single game at Blackduck.
The Ox and Ada A's have met twice this year, Ada winning in the Rosco Invitational 2-0 and Bemidji taking a 6-0 decision behind Ryan Sullivan here in late June.
Matt Fossen (2-3), the loser in the first game, and Bryan Jamieson (2-1) are likely to be saved for the league pair tomorrow.
Sullivan and Landon Harris (0-2) or lefty Duane Beihn (1-0) might start today.
Cody Gross might also be available for weekend action.
Manager Chris Conway hopes to have his full cast available, something that has not been the case in recent games.
The team has reached double figures in three of its past four starts, winning 10-2 over Crookston, 10-5 at Roseau and 19-8 over Blackduck Tuesday.
Conway and Jesse Jacob son will handle the catching with Harris or Auston Zetah at first, Joel Conway at second, Sullivan or Jamieson at short and Sol Schneider at third.
Josh Kelsey, Nick Lee, Luke Burns, Beihn and Jamieson could see outfield action.
