Blue Ox drops to 14-2
ADA - The Bemidji Blue Ox lost for only the second time in 16 games Tuesday when it fell 10-4 at Ada.
Bemidji returns to action Saturday, with games at Nimrod at noon and against Huntersville in Menahga at 3:30 p.m.
The Blue Ox will be home 1:30 p.m. Sunday against Leech Lake of Walker in its final regular-season contest.
The league playoffs begin July 21 and continue through July 29.
Ryan Sander was Tuesday's losing pitcher.
He allowed four runs on six hits while striking out nine and walking four.
Nolan Coyle and Sol Schneider also pitched.
Bemidji opened the scoring in the top of the first when Bryan Jamieson singled and later scored on an error.
Ada scored the next four runs, however.
Bemidji drew within 4-2 in the upper sixth when Josh Kelsey reached on an error, advanced on singles by Joel Conway and Duane Biehn and scored on an error.
The home team took control with two in the sixth, one in the seventh and three in the eighth.
The Blue Ox capped the scoring with a pair in the ninth as Sander singled, Landon Harris walked and Kelsey doubled.
Sander had a double and a single to pace Bemidji's offense.
