Bloody, shirtless Moorhead teen found stuck in snow bank after jumping from third-floor window

MOORHEAD - Police say they found a 17-year-old Moorhead boy bloody, shirtless and up to his waist in snow early today after he reportedly punched out a third-floor apartment window and jumped out of it.

Lt. Tory Jacobson said the teen was taken by ambulance to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo. His name and condition weren't available.

Officers responded at 3:08 a.m. to a disturbance call about a male who had jumped from a third-floor apartment at 423 11th St. N.

When they arrived, officers found the shirtless teen up to his waist in snow with cuts on his hand and body, Jacobson said. The temperature outside was around 10 degrees.

"He had significant injuries. He was very bloody," Jacobson said.

Others in the apartment unit told police the teen was under the influence of drugs and had been in an altercation with another male in the apartment. The 17-year-old punched his fist through a double-paned window and then jumped out the same window, Jacobson said.

The teen wouldn't comply with instructions from officers trying to help him and tried to run back into the apartment, Jacobson said. Police caught him and used a Taser on him to control him, he said.

The case remains under investigation. Police are considering criminal damage to property and assault charges against the teen, Jacobson said.
