Blackduck student's EXPLORE® scores are higher than the national average

This year all eighth graders were given the EXPLORE® test. The EXPLORE® program is designed to help eighth and ninth graders explore a broad range of options for their future. It prepares students not only for their high school coursework but also for their post-high school choices as well at no cost to the school district.

EXPLORE® contains four curriculum-based assessments: English, Mathematics, Reading and Science. The assessment is based on the major areas of high school and postsecondary instructional programs and measures the skills and knowledge needed for college success.

Additionally, EXPLORE® includes a career exploration component that stimulates students' thinking about future plans and relates personal characteristics to career options.

This year Blackduck School's eighth graders scored above the national average in science, reading and mathematics. Blackduck students scored one tenth of a point lower (14.6 to 14.7) than the national average in English.

The Blackduck School District is very proud of the students and staff at Blackduck Schools.
