Blackduck state speakers earn third and four place

Two BHS speakers earned medals in the prestigious Minnesota State High School League's State Speech Tournament April 20 at Chanhassen High School.

Matthew Jedlicka earned the third place medal in the category of Serious Interpretation of Drama and Tyler Dobmeier earned the fourth place medal in the category of Great Speeches.

Four other BHS speakers missed the final round by a very small margin, including Morgan Jung, Katie O'Rourke, Kristie Slindee and Maile Olson (last year's fifth place state medalist).

Rounding out the tournament team were Maddie Stomberg, Dimitrius Haro, Derek Gustafson, Maddy Liapis, and Shalynne Bogucki.
