The Bemidji Symphony Orchestra will be conducting a free workshop for children and adults, ages 8 and up, Aug. 5 from 2-4 p.m. at the Blackduck Community Library.
This workshop, "When the Landscape is Quiet Again," will provide background into the two composers whose pieces will performed during an free evening concert. Workshop attendees will be able to meet conductor Beverly Everett, as well as some of the symphony musicians. Children over the age of 8 are especially encouraged to attend.
The two pieces to be featured at the evening concert are Appalachian Spring by Aaron Copeland, and a brand new composition by Minnesota composer Joseph Adams, Quiet Landscape.
This free concert is open to everyone and will be held at Zion Lutheran Church starting at 7 p.m. There will be a social time with refreshments following the concert in the church fellowship rooms. This is a Minnesota Library Legacy Event.
