Blackduck, Kelliher voters approve school measures

Voters in the Blackduck and Kelliher school districts approved referendum questions in Tuesday's primary election.

In Blackduck, the vote was 462-308 in favor of an $800,000 levy for repairs and bus purchases.

Kelliher voters approved a referendum to transfer funds by a margin of 223-33.

Here is how the Blackduck School District question was worded:

Shall the school board of Independent School District No. 32 (Blackduck Public Schools) be authorized to issue its general obligation school building bonds in an amount not to exceed $830,000 to provide funds for the acquisition and betterment of school sites and facilities, including the repair and replacement of the roof on the existing school facility: tuckpointing: and the acquisition of school buses and a van?

Here is how the Kelliher School District question was worded:

Shall the school board of Independent School District No. 36 (Kelliher) be authorized to issue its general obligation school building bonds in an amount not to exceed $495,000 to provide funds for the betterment of school sites and facilities, including the construction of various improvements to district sites and facilities, the acquisition of vehicles and equipment, and the acquisition and installation of instructional equipment and improved technology systems, with said bonds to be repaid from funds on hand and available in the debt redemption fund of the school district?
