For Lorraine Peck, Christmas celebrations began Dec. 19 with a concert at Ridgewood Baptist Church in Bemidji with family and friends, followed by a traditional feast and a fun time of sharing, a White Elephant and gifts.

Lorraine's grandson, Josiah Dietrich, from Camp Pendleton, CA, was home on furlough.

Christmas Eve services at R.B.C. brought all together again, followed by a full day at Lori and Dan Dietrich's home with feasting, a gift exchange, singing and playing when over 20 celebrated together.

After church services Sunday, Lorraine was invited to the Dietrich home for leftovers and gift opening.

Wednesday, Lorraine joined Josiah and his friend, Sarah Peterson, for a fish fry at Lori and Dan's home and to say goodbye to Josiah.

Thursday, about 20 apartment residents gathered in the community room for a holiday concert with Judy Ross and the Ecumenical Five. They also had soup and snacks.

In spite of all the snow, they did manage to enjoy the sunshine and all looked forward to the new year.

December visitors at Dee's were Elaine Baazard before she left for Texas to meet her new twin grandsons.

Bonnie Kuhlman was also a visitor along with Shirley Gilmore and Lila Long.

December birthdays and a potluck was held with a complete turkey dinner. As usual, the ladies outdid themselves and they served about 15 residents.

Christmas Day was quiet but active.

Dee had six long distance calls. Her sister-in-law, Carol Mourer, came in later in the day to bring her gifts and a good care package.

Mid-month, Lorraine Peck, Lori Dietrich and Dee spent the day in Bemidji for appointments, shopping and lunch.
