Bicyclist struck by vehicle in Fosston

A bicyclist was injured Saturday morning when a vehicle struck the rear of a bicycle near Fosston.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol out of Thief River Falls:

Patrick E. Sewell, 69, of Elm Grove, La., was riding a bicycle east on U.S. Highway 2 about 4 miles east of Fosston in Polk County when a 1997 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Helen I. Andrew, 68, of Lengby, struck the rear of the bicycle.

The accident was reported at 11:43 a.m.

Sewell suffered a broken clavicle and an injured ankle. He was taken to First Care Medical Services in Fosston.

Andrew was examined, but did not report any injuries.

The vehicle sustained minor damage.
