Friday's Section 8-3A volleyball championship match between Bemidji and Fergus Falls will be played 7 p.m. Friday at Detroit Lakes.

The site was determined Wednesday after approval by officials of both schools and Section 8-3A.

Bemidji advanced to Friday's title match by blitzing Monticello 25-21, 25-14, 25-14 Tuesday in Monticello.

Fergus Falls gained the section final by outlasting Sauk Rapids 21-25, 25-22, 25-17, 25-23.

The Lumberjacks entered the section tournament as the third seed from the North Sub-Section. Fergus Falls was the top seed from the North.

Bemidji's trip to Friday's section final began last week with a 25-20, 25-21, 30-28 home win over Alexandria. On Friday the Jacks rallied to defeat Moorhead, the second seed from the North, 26-24, 23-25, 18-25, 25-10, 15-8 in Moorhead.

That victory vaulted BHS into Tuesday's semifinal where the Lumberjacks dismantled Monticello.

Bemidji will take a 23-8 record into Friday's championship match while Fergus Falls is 23-5.

Among the Otters' victories is a 25-22, 17-25, 15-12 win over Bemidji which came on Sept. 10 in Marshall during a tournament hosted by Southwest Minnesota State.
