BHS students honored for play

BEMIDJI — Students have been honored for their roles in the production of this past fall’s Bemidji High School musical, “Beauty and the Beast.”

The musical, performed in early November, was one of 67 taking part in Hennepin Theatre Trust’s annual SpotLight Musical Theatre Program.

Award recipients have the option of taking part in the annual SpotLight Showcase, to be held in June at the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis.

As a whole, “Beauty and the Beast” received two honorable mention awards: one for Overall Production and one for Overall Performance.

Individual awards were as follows:

Outstanding Performance by a Student Orchestra

California Thorson, Outstanding Achievement in Costume Design

Libby Sorenson (Mrs. Potts), Outstanding Performance in a Supporting Role

Didu Keddah (Lumiere), Outstanding Performance in a Supporting Role

Hannah Fletcher (Cogsworth), Outstanding Performance in a Supporting Role

Hannah Allen (Madame De La Grand Bouche), Outstanding Performance in a Featured Role

Mackenzie Degelder (LeFou), Outstanding Performance in a Featured Role

Bradley Olson (Beast), Honorable Mention Performance in a Leading Role

Rachel Jensen (Belle), Honorable Mention Performance in a Leading Role

Jameel Marshall (Gaston), Honorable Mention Performance in a Supporting Role

Sage Hovet, Delaney Rietveld and Susannah Roed (Silly Girls), Honorable Mention Performance in a Featured Ensemble
