Students were able to agree or disagree with Friedman's argument that a green revolution ("Geo-Greenism") can renew America and that market demands drive innovation. Students were also asked to provide their opinion on what it would take to transform America's perception so that the Code Green message is seen as a key to prosperity, research a local company "going green," or what steps would they take to "go green" in their personal life.

Guilfoile and his teacher, Rick Toward, will attend a private reception with Thomas Friedman at BestPrep's Educational Forum on Oct. 8 in Minneapolis.

BestPrep is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preparing Minnesota students with business, career and financial literacy skills through experiences that inspire success in work and life.
