National Honor Society members distinguish themselves in the classroom, extracurricular activities and in the community for characteristics consistent with the goals promoted by the National Honor Society of the United States.

Induction of new members into the NHS is one of the most important traditions associated with the organization and the ceremony is a memorable one for those who are honored, as well as their families and friends.

The entire school, along with Nissen joined together to honor the new members. The selection procedure follows guidelines set down in the National Handbook and any junior or senior who has a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher and meets the qualifications by excelling in, not only scholarship, but the other three required areas of leadership, service and character.
