BHS girls golf: Jacks take third at Long Prairie Invite

The Bemidji High girls golf team finished third for the fourth time in the past six starts Friday.

Playing in a 15-team field at Long Prairie, Bemidji shot a 386 to trail Buffalo by two strokes for runner-up.

Alexandria won at 370 to 384 for the Bison. St. Cloud Tech and Rogers rounded out the top five.

Maggie Leland of Alex won medalist honors with a five over par 77. No one else broke 90.

Bemidji was again playing without Emily Frosaker who had a school conflict.

Megan Phelps paced Bemidji with an 82. Kelsey Bretschneider and Shelby Sauer had 95's while Erin Buckanaga completed the scoring with a season low 104.

The kickers were Aimee Sandquist at 111 and Marissa Loch 118.

The team is back on the course today at The Vintage playing the Staples-Motley Invitational.

Frosaker will be back in action today.
