STAPLES -- The Bemidji girls golf team finished fifth out of 14 teams at the Staples Cardinal Invitational, held Saturday at the Vintage at Staples golf course.
The Lumberjacks shot 354, taking fifth behind Detroit Lakes, which finished first at 318. Pequot Lakes took second with 336, Grand Rapids was third at 339 and host Staples Motley finished fourth at 352.
Bemidji was led by Katelin Craft, who shot 42-43-85. Motley's Emily Israelson was the medalist in the meet, shooting 37-38-75.
Morgan Miller was the only other Bemidji golfer to score under 90, coming in at 42-47-89.
The Lumberjacks return to the course Tuesday when they'll travel to Blueberry Pines Golf Course for the Menahga Invitational.
