BHS boys golf: Larson leads Jacks to third place at Crosby-Ironton Invite

The Bemidji Lumberjacks golf team continued its improved play Wednesday, taking third place at the 12-team Crosby- Ironton Invitational.

Playing the Arnold-Palmer designed Deacon's Lodge at Breezy Point, the Jacks posted a 328, one stroke over their low score of the year at their own Invitational Monday.

Staples-Motley won at 312 with Brainerd second at 322. Detroit Lakes and Pequot Lakes rounded out the top five.

Medalist honors went to Shawn Halverson of Brainerd and Nick Forsberg of Staples with three over par 75's.

Bemidji's Kevin Larson was in an eight way tie for third at 78.

Other Jacks scorers were Joe Welle 81, Rylee Curb 83 and Jake Hoffman 86.

The kickers were Kaleb Hanson 87 and Trey Dale 88.

The meet completed the week for the Jacks.

They return to the course a week from Friday at the Longbow Invitational at Detroit Lakes and play at the Wadena Invitational the following day Both of those meets are co-ed events with the Bemidji girls team also competing.
