BGC hosts a few successful events

BEMIDJI – Special event fundraising efforts from January through March raised $11,700 to support membership at the Boys & Girls Club of the Bemidji Area.

Special events included the “Evening of Love for our Kids” on Feb. 14 and the March 9 vehicle raffle event “Help a Kid Thrive Win a Sweet Ride.” Denae Nei was the winner of the vehicle raffle. More than 40 local businesses and individuals sold tickets during the campaign.

Andrea Ohnstad, club executive director stated “To align with the clubs mission, the cost of the annual club membership is kept to a minimum at $15 per youth with a $45 maximum fee per family, though our casts per youth is over $600 annually. The club is important especially with today’s uncertain economy; families are facing difficult choices as they try to provide the best for their children and out fundraising efforts directly support our community’s children and families.”
