Betty Lou Danielson, 75, of Bemidji, died Thursday, Dec.18, 2008, at Havenwood Care Center in Bemidji.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Bemidji with Rev. Mark Hovestol officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Bemidji under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.
She was born May 10, 1933, to Felix and Violet (Sinnel) Cekalla in Royalton, Minn. She was a graduate of Morgan Park High School in Duluth.
She met her husband, Gene, at the University of Minnesota-Duluth library where she was employed. They were married on Aug. 14, 1954. She expressed her Christian faith most clearly by supporting the wellbeing of other people before her own needs and interests. She worked full-time while her husband pursued higher education. She partnered with her husband in Christian ministry serving as musician, youth leader and hostess to congregations. She used her secretarial skills in the services of her beloved congregation of the Bemidji Covenant Church.
She is survived by her husband; daughter, Nancy (Andrew) Wig; son David (Dana) Danielson; brother, Raymond (Gloria) Cekalla.
The family prefers that memorials be sent to North Country Hospice in Bemidji.
